Estate overview
The Village Hotels estate comprises of 32 hotels across the UK. All sites offer Spas, Gyms, Swimming pools, Starbucks, shared work spaces and conference facilities as well as sports bars and restaurant services open to both clients and members of the public.
The Challenge
The majority of Village Hotels are located either within city centres or in business parks. This meant that the car parks were being used by non hotel users for free parking while they shop or when working in a nearby location. This was causing significant frustration for staff, genuine hotel guests and gym members alike who were either unable to park or would spend significant time trying to find a space – often in an overflow car park some distance away.
Our solution
We established a daily rate for visitors with free parking at weekends, plus a single or multiple use concession code for contractors or conference attendees redeemable via NexusPay, our pay-by-phone app, or the NexusPark touchscreen payment kiosks.
Permits:
- Free parking is granted to staff via an easy to manage self-serve permit system.
Payment terminals:
- Live monitoring of every payment kiosk across their estate
- The ability to check payment transactions customisable by date range and hotel location(s)
- Barcode scanning of concession codes to allow a simplified user journey for concession users
- Marketing Campaigns – estate wide or site specific highly customisable marketing, controlled in-house
In an industry first, we set-up an API (data link) to the client’s own booking portal allowing visitors to pay for parking in advance, at the time of booking.
Plus we provide location specific monthly reports designed in conjunction with our client.
The results
The scheme is a great success and we’ve since agreed to increase our services for Village Hotels.
