The Senior Team
GroupNexus has been at the forefront of the parking industry for over three decades, driving improvements and innovation.
The collective skills, strong experience and widespread industry knowledge allows the senior team to lead, inspire and deliver commercial success to clients and stakeholders.
As a co-founder of the business, Ian has seen the company grow from a start-up, to one of the leading car park management companies in the UK employing over 450 people with over 1,200 sites under management.
As Operations Director Ian is particularly proud of the company’s staff retention rate and even prouder of the fact that his top-level management team of Operations Managers have all been promoted from within. He believes this shows the value the company has derived from its investment in training and personal development.
Although the industry has changed dramatically since Ian began his career in 1991, he is key to ensuring that the values that helped the company grow, such as a quality service and putting the customer first, are maintained through the training programs, processes and company ethos.
Ellis co-founded the business, together with Ian Langdon and Max Green, his late Father, in 1991. Its founding expertise was providing Parking Management for the National Health Service, which at the time was a free-for-all – in both senses. The customer centric service the company provided to the NHS has guided the business ethos ever since.
Ellis believes that success has come from listening to our clients and understanding their particular needs – even within the NHS and GroupNexus’ many Hospital/ Healthcare clients, none are the same, each Hospital and Hospital Trust requires something slightly different.
Over the last 30 years, Ellis has been truly amazed and inspired by watching and working with a group of people who are equally passionate about GroupNexus and delivering the future of parking.
It gives Ellis a huge sense of satisfaction that so many of the team have grown with the Company and that the business has moved from a sole focus on the NHS to a myriad of other client sectors, whilst also enhancing the services offered.
Seeing the world and technology moving faster than ever, and the change this brings to the industry, Ellis wanted to ensure that GroupNexus were not only ahead of the game but driving the changes – able to offer deeper and relevant technological opportunities to clients alongside traditional services.
It is testament to Ellis that after 30 years, GroupNexus is still growing, and he plans to help continue this growth far into the future.

Under his direction, the business constantly looks to innovate and review its services and as such has widened its portfolio. GroupNexus now offers a range of non-core services to clients, such as security and facilities management.
