Fully Managed Pay on Foot Barrier Solution
The Client
Kettering General Hospital is a busy acute hospital with 7 car parks, spread over a large footprint, with multiple access roads.
The Challenge
They needed to find a way to expand the number of spaces available to meet the site demand. And they faced Blue Light access difficulties due to road layout.
They needed a solution that could facilitate 24/7 parking requirements, dedicated areas for patients and staff, and a complex pay-as-you-go staff parking system to restrict users living within a short radius of the site.
Our Solution
To meet their complex needs, we worked with them to design, fund and build a 400 space single demountable decked car park, increasing public spaces by 50% – which we went on to operate.
To accommodate emergency vehicle access, the plan included the reformatting of the entire parking area and road layout.
The new parking system included these bespoke features:
- Pay on Foot ticketless barrier solution with space availability signs located before entering the site and at each car park
- Vehicle identified on screen to calculate entry time and tariffs payable
- App/Phone/Web payments linked to VRM for automated entry/exit
- Solar Pay & Display parking in areas not suited to barriers and where there was no power
- 24/7 SIA Licensed customer service staff presence – patient/visitor assistance, traffic flow management, site security and manual enforcement
- Online Permit system managing concessions and Hospital Parking Charter requirements (free parking for night staff, certain patient group etc) linked to barrier system
